Union plumbers, steamfitters, pipefitters, and sprinklerfitters with Plumbers and Pipefitters UA 99 perform highly specialized work that keeps critical systems running safely and efficiently. Plumbers focus on installing and maintaining water supply and drainage systems, while pipefitters and steamfitters build and connect complex piping systems that carry steam, gases, chemicals, and high-pressure liquids. A major part of this work involves precision welding—joining pipe to exact specifications to ensure strength, durability, and leak-free performance in demanding industrial and commercial environments. These trades require a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and strict adherence to codes and safety standards.

Across new construction, large-scale industrial projects, and ongoing maintenance, these trades work with a wide range of materials and advanced tools to get the job done right. Whether it’s delivering clean water, powering industrial operations, or protecting buildings from fire, members of Plumbers Local 99 bring expert craftsmanship, extensive training, and a strong safety mindset to every project—helping build and sustain communities throughout Livingston and McLean Counties.
